ASTRIAAL To Issue New EP
October 25, 2002Australia's ASTRIAAL will shortly issue a seven-track mini-CD, titled "Deception Revelation", containing a track from the group's forthcoming full-length album, two live tracks and other exclusive material.
Included on the CD will be a re-recorded [and re-mastered] version of "An Eclipse in Blood", entitled "Millennia of Bloodshed", which was originally featured on the "Glories of the Nightsky" demo. "This version is much faster, and definitively more harsh and ugly, however retaining the folkier feel of the demo recording," according to the band's official web site.
"The final three exclusive tracks make up 'Revelations', a three-part hymn encompassing over 13 minutes of music, featuring all of the elements that have been utilized throughout ASTRIAAL's journey thus far: Misanthropy, Acoustics, Darkness and Violence. 'Revelations' won't be on any other ASTRIAAL release, and we are definitely satisfied with how it has taken form."
As previously reported, ASTRIAAL entered Sunshine Studios in Brisbane on June 17th to begin recording their debut full-length effort, entitled "Renascent Misanthropy". Engineered by Lachlan Mitchell (ex-NAZXUL),the follow-up to the "Summoning the Essence of Ancient Wisdom" EP will contain "eight tracks of blasting misanthropik violence," according to the group's official web site.
ASTRIAAL will be venturing down to Velvet Studios in Sydney on November 5-7 to complete the final mixing of the album for an early 2003 release. In the meantime, you can see the group performing live at the following locations:
Nov. 09 – Canberra, AUS @ University of Canberra Bar (w/DESTRUCTION)
